Materials

Here are some photos showing the clients work in their workshops and the materials that are involved in both workshops.

I chose to use my organic shapes texture in the intricate workshop to emphasise the organic shapes that are involved in the workshops form. The stairs, building, and secondary staircases connecting the levels all involve curved organic shapes to highlight the delicate and natural work of Bernabei Freeman. Therefore, it was sensible to use a material that reflected this.

For the bold workshop, I decided to use a more rectilinear and geometric material to both contrast the theme of the organic intricate workshop, and make the Auto Fabrica workshop distinctive in its dignified and solid appearance. Because of this, I used my 'rectilinear' texture. It also mimics the different thicknesses in elements (ie, the shell of the building and the concrete staircase which is thin in comparison).

For the facade of the Autofabrica workshop in the exhibition area, I used the 'conductive' texture. This texture portrays a circuit board-type aesthetic and aims to represent the company as a progressive and innovative company, reflected in the motorbikes that are showcased in front of the texture.

For the seat in the middle of the exhibition area, I used the 'bond' texture. The texture pictures two wings that meet at a single point. The texture was quite similar to the meeting of the contrasting intricate and bold in the architectural scheme, hence i used it in the exhibition space.

Here are some images of the textures within the scheme.

The following is a 10 second video that presents a shape similar to the spindle of the intricate staircase around the workshop building.
