week 2 - stair sections and models

These stair models will be implemented into my EXP1 sketchup model which is still being developed. I have included my above ground component as context for my intricate staircase, however, my below ground space is still being developed and hence it wouldn't be appropriate to include it as context.

Bold Staircase (1st photo): This staircase uses thick rectilinear forms to suit the confident, bold aesthetic of Autofabrica. A ramp weaves between the main staircase for motorcycle access. Cantilever concrete treads have been used alongside steel railings. This stair is versatile as the ramp landings can be used as mini-workshop spaces for the below-datum space. Glass supports around the ramps provide relief from a purely concrete composition.

Intricate Staircase (2nd photo): This staircase employs tapered thin treads to give the illusion of a light staircase. They also have a curved organic shape to suit the attached building. Handrails have been included around the outside to avoid suffocating the exhibition space with heavy shapes. Supports have been include under the stairs to add realism to their light aesthetic.

Note that two spiral staircases have been used to make the above-datum workshop an accessible space.
